Adidas Originals is back at it again with Edison Chen and his Clot label for its latest shoe collaboration.
This time, the duo teamed up to update the German athletic brand’s Stan Smith sneaker with beaded detail on the heel tab. The distinctive beaded detailing covers the back of the contrast color heel tab with a fringe effect hanging over the back of the shoe. Classic perforated 3-Stripes round out the understated leather sneaker.
To launch the style, Chen and South Korean model and actress Hoyeon star in a new campaign teaser. Set against the backdrop of a country club, Adidas noted that the campaign is meant to “challenge the codes of etiquette, uniformity, and access. Here, rules are rewritten and not followed.”

The Three Stripes added that “the footwear becomes a tool for expression, and a space traditionally reserved for the few is reclaimed through confidence, creativity, and attitude. The campaign will be loud, visual, and uncompromising, capturing what happens when heritage is disrupted, and space is claimed on new terms.”
This new collab comes one year into Adidas and Clot’s relationship. Working together, the duo has already set a precedent for bringing radical changes to some of the latter’s most classic sneakers. Through the collaborations with Edison Chen and Clot, the Superstar has transformed into a dress shoe and another dressier shoe with dramatic wedge soles, and the Gazelle has become an espadrille with hand-applied beaded stripes.
This latest tie-up featuring the Stan Smith follows the March release of the crepe-soled Clot x Adidas Gazelle. An additional Clot x Adidas Gazelle dropped last year with a more traditional cupsole and the same bead treatment as the espadrille variant.
The Clot Stan Smith Beaded by Edison Chen will be available for $160 on the Confirmed app and in stores on June 21. Another drop in this series featuring a Stan Smith with an espadrille sole is expected later this summer.
