Emily Blunt doubled down on Valentino’s Rockstud revival on Friday in London, stepping into a red version of the studded sandal she had worn in black just one day earlier.
At the U.K. photocall for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” at the V&A South Kensington, Blunt wore Valentino Garavani’s Rockstud Kidskin Sandal, a 100 mm red leather style with an open toe, a narrow stiletto heel and an adjustable ankle strap. Platinum-finish studs of different sizes traced the front band and straps, giving the sandal a lighter, more open read than the caged Rockstud pumps that dominated the 2010s, while keeping the house code clear.
Blunt paired the sandals with a Michael Kors fall 2026 look, wearing a fitted black turtleneck with a high-waisted skirt covered in densely layered red floral appliqués. Against the floral texture, the platinum studs gave the otherwise minimal sandal a sharper finish. She completed the textured look with slim black sunglasses.

The choice also put Blunt more firmly inside one of the clearest shoe stories already running through the “Devil Wears Prada 2” rollout. The first teaser put Miranda Priestly’s red Valentino Rockstud pumps in close-up as she returned to the “Runway” office, turning the archival style into an early fashion talking point for the sequel. Valentino has since leaned into the renewed attention around the design, while Alessandro Michele revisited the Rockstud in his pre-fall 2026 collection through strappier, more caged silhouettes.
Hathaway has already taken the Rockstud into full Valentino territory on the tour, wearing Michele’s updated version at the Tokyo premiere. Blunt’s London run gave the motif a different job. Across two back-to-back looks, she stayed with the same sandal shape — first in black, then in red — keeping Valentino’s studs in the mix without simply replaying Miranda Priestly’s pump from the teaser trailer.
