“The Devil Wears Prada 2” cast reunited at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday, where Emily Blunt donned a custom Ashi Studio antique-finished tulle tailored two-piece composed of a corseted bodice embroidered with glass beads.
The midnight black outfit featured beaded ball detailing along the neckline, beaded fringe tassel sleeves and silk straight-leg trousers.
Blunt’s outfit, styled by Jessica Paster, was accessorized with a half-million-dollar pearl body necklace by Mikimoto. Set in 18-karat white gold, the jewelry piece featured a 21.85-carat pearl-shaped morganite and 45.97 carats of diamonds. She also donned Mikimoto’s Bows Akoya Pearl Earrings, Bows Akoya Ring and Pearl Ring, totaling an additional 45.04 carats of diamonds.

“It was a lot of fun working with Jessica and deciding how we would interpret the theme this year. When we saw this extraordinary creation from Mikimoto, we knew it was perfect; it feels like wearable art and captures the idea of jewelry becoming part of the garment,” Blunt said in an official statement.
“Typically for the Met Gala, the clothing fully embodies the theme, while the jewelry plays more of a supporting role. Here, we reversed that,” Paster added. “The body necklace became the garment; it defines the silhouette and directly expresses the relationship between the body and what adorns it.”
Blunt’s makeup was likely crafted by artist Jenn Streicher, who helped form her aesthetic throughout the “The Devil Wears Prada 2” press tour. On the Met steps, she posed with charcoal eyes, while her hair was fashioned in a spikey bun. Though it’s yet to be confirmed, the slicked updo may have been the work of Blunt’s longtime hairstylist, Laini Reeves.
Blunt made her Met Gala debut back in 2007 in a black sequin Calvin Klein gown for the “Poiret: King of Fashion” theme. Back then, she brought her former partner, Michael Bublé, as her date. In the years since, she’s ascended the coveted steps alone or with her husband, John Krasinski. She’s also dressed in a myriad of statement-making looks through the years, from custom Michael Kors to Miu Miu.
The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event was co-chaired by Beyonce Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
