PARIS — The jury of this year’s ANDAM prize will be as glamorous as the front row at a Saint Laurent runway show.

Blackpink’s Rosé, model and singer Carla Bruni, and actress and musician Charlotte Gainsbourg are among the 13 guest members selected by the French fashion house’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello, who won the award in 2011 and will mentor the winner of the fashion prize for its 35th anniversary edition.

Anja Rubik and Alek Wek will rub shoulders with fellow former Saint Laurent campaign faces Béatrice Dalle and Rossy de Palma, alongside director Gaspar Noé, actor Niels Schneider, actress Virginie Efira, writer Virginie Despentes and stylist Emmanuelle Alt. Rounding out the group is journalist Augustin Trapenard, who hosts Saint Laurent’s Talks podcast.

“Like Mr. [Yves] Saint Laurent who, throughout his life, surrounded himself with the women who were essential to his inspiration, Anthony has gathered around him his muses and friends,” said ANDAM founder and managing director Nathalie Dufour.

“Models, writers, singers or actresses, they are inspiring, creative, free, powerful, impressive and sensitive. Through their respective careers, they have constructed a sense of style and will bring their perspective to tomorrow’s designers, thereby celebrating the next generation in fashion design and the 35 years of ANDAM,” she added.

Lalisa Manobal, known simply as Lisa to Blackpink’s legion of fans, was previously a guest member of the ANDAM jury in 2021.

This year the design competition will hand out grants totaling 700,000 euros to budding talents.

The winner of the grand prize will receive 300,000 euros, and the runner-up 100,000 euros. Vaccarello will advise each of them for one year on both the creative and strategic dimensions of their businesses.

Finalists are due to be revealed at the end of May, and the prize ceremony is scheduled for June 27.

Saint Laurent is one of the corporate sponsors of the award, which was presided over by founder Yves Saint Laurent’s longtime business partner Pierre Bergé from its creation in 1989 until Bergé’s death in 2017.

Past winners include Viktor & Rolf, Christophe Lemaire, Jeremy Scott and Marine Serre. French designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi scooped the 2023 prize, with Ester Manas and Duran Lantink both receiving the runnerup Special Prize.

ANDAM — the French acronym for National Association of the Development of the Fashion Arts — is supported by large corporate sponsors, which now include Balenciaga, Bureau Betak, Chanel, Chloé, Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent, Galeries Lafayette, Google, Hermès, Kering, Lacoste, Longchamp, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, L’Oréal Paris, Meta, Mytheresa, OTB, Premiere Classe, Saint Laurent, Swarovski and Tomorrow.

The French Ministry of Culture and the DEFI, a body that promotes the development of the French fashion industry, are also key historic public partners of ANDAM.
