“MZ Wallace was born in New York City, and our ‘New York Icons’ campaign celebrates a diverse group of New Yorkers as well as our iconic shapes and new bags that Lucy and I are excited to introduce,” Monica Zwirner, cofounder of MZ Wallace, told WWD. “We’ve always designed for dynamic, multifaceted lives on the go, which to us is quintessentially New York. This campaign was an opportunity to reflect on the brand’s evolution while showcasing the distinct personalities and style that celebrate the vibrant and dynamic culture of New Yorkers.”
Created as a “love letter to New York,” the campaign was shot across various notable New York spots from uptown Lincoln Center to Brooklyn, with the campaign faces carrying MZ Wallace bags against the backdrop of the brand’s hometown.
Zwirner noted that when the company was founded more than 25 years ago, it was created out of “a love” for the city’s “unique style and personality” — which is why the brand chose to celebrate its roots as a foundation of the brand alongside the places and people that serve as inspiration for the duo.
“New York has a style and energy that is constantly evolving but never goes out of style,” explained Lucy Wallace Eustice, cofounder of MZ Wallace. “We think about our bags in much the same way. They’re designed to feel relevant today and for years to come, becoming part of the way people live and move through the city. This campaign pays homage to that enduring spirit — celebrating where we started while continuing to design for where people are going.”
MZ Wallace said the campaign is a celebration of individuality, as “New York Icons” is a reflection of the vastly differing styles, tastes and personalities that continue to define New York.
“We wanted to bring together a diverse group of inspiring people who stand out in their respective fields and speak to the multidimensional routines we design for, continued Wallace Eustice. “From fashion and sports to business, hospitality and the creative industries, each person adds their originality and perspective to the campaign. Individually, they are empowering — and together, they represent the breadth of the MZ Wallace community and the many ways people move through their days. Their lives are busy and varied, and MZ Wallace bags are designed as companion pieces to move with them.”
This campaign also kicks off the brand’s fall 2026 product assortment, with two drops arriving on Sept 15 and 24. One of the newest styles, “Frankie,” is seen on the Joseph sisters within the campaign, available in small and medium totes alongside its bucket-bag silhouette.
Launching on Sept. 15 are its latest colorways of black velvet, Highland Plaid shearling and cognac nylon on select silhouettes, to introduce 23 new iterations of the brand’s bestsellers. The Daily Tote style will also debut with the drop, as an “elevated take” on its Metro Tote.
On Sept. 24, the Frankie range will be available in classic black and a seasonal deep claret color; the hue will also be brought to its Madison styles.
