LONDON — Swedish fast fashion giant H&M is getting into the winter sport of après-ski with a capsule collection in collaboration with Perfect Moment, a luxury ski and lifestyle brand led by Jane Gottschalk.

Blending functionality, aesthetic and great price, the 28-piece capsule launching on Dec. 2 online and at select locations features down-filled outerwear, separates, and knitwear — some featuring black and white graphic print inspired by Perfect Moment’s logo the North Star — and winter-ready accessories such as faux fur moon boots, hats with pom-poms, wraparound sunglasses, and an oversized star-print wool and mohair scarf.

In an interview, Gottschalk, who serves as cofounder, chief creative officer and president at Perfect Moment, said this collection is for those who want to feel “confident, empowered, and effortlessly cool.”

“It brings together bold design with high-performance elements, offering pieces that stand out on the slopes but also transition easily into everyday life. It’s for the person who wants more than just outerwear — they want a statement, a feeling, a moment,” she added.

Her personal highlights in the collection include the burgundy faux fur down-filled puffer jacket with a hood.

“The loop-knit cardigan with a striped Merino wool collar is also striking and a standout piece, for sure. Pair it with the burgundy leather trousers, based on our ski pants, with the calf zips open to show off a good pair of boots. A perfect winter look,” Gottschalk added.

To her, après-ski, as a sport, is relaxed, comfortable, social, playful and glamorous. Together with H&M, especially with its extensive creative team and production capabilities and expertise in premium and sustainable fabrics, Perfect Moment was able to create a collection that brings the spirit of both brands to life.

“It’s fun, relatable, has a retro feel, and features a relevant seasonal colour palette. It speaks both ‘winter cozy’ and ‘winter chic’ and works both in the mountains and the city. I could wear it as well as my four teenage daughters, and I hope this resonates with H&M customers globally,” she added.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative adviser and head of design at H&M, said collaborating with Perfect Moment on this winter collection felt “unexpected, dynamic, and sure to spark excitement.”

“We wanted something a little unexpected for this season, and collaborating with Perfect Moment, such a fun and playful skiwear brand, was exactly it. I think we are all longing for that après-ski glamour at this time of the year, so it was the perfect fit. It also feels like our customers are really going to enjoy this as the collection is so fierce, functional, and really stands out,” she said.

Johansson noted that it’s important for us to offer the H&M customers the recognizable designs Perfect Moment is known for — glamorous yet laid-back.

“When collaborating, we are always thinking about the things you need in a wardrobe, your wardrobe staples — offering customers those great key items is a huge part of our collaboration history. Another part of our collaboration DNA has always been to democratize fashion and to prove that design is not a matter of price, which is why we can offer our customers such great value for money,” she said, adding that the knitwear is her favorite item from the capsule.

Founded in 1984 in the mountains of Chamonix, Perfect Moment is a high-performance, luxury skiwear and lifestyle brand that fuses technical excellence with fashion-led design.

In 2012, British-Swiss entrepreneurial couple Gottschalk and her husband Max took ownership of the brand and injected it with a new style focus. Perfect Moment products are available globally online and via key retailers such as Mytheresa, Net-a-porter, Harrods, Selfridges, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.
