PARIS — Loewe is adding another rising star to its roster of celebrity talent, naming British actor David Jonsson as its newest brand ambassador as the Spanish luxury house sets a new course under creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.

The appointment marks one of the first ambassador announcements since the design duo took the reins of the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned brand last year, signaling the direction of Loewe’s evolving cultural universe.

Jonsson has quickly become one of Britain’s most sought-after young actors, earning widespread acclaim for his role in “Alien: Romulus,” which won him the Rising Star Award at the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards.

His growing list of credits also includes “Rye Lane,” the BAFTA-nominated short “Wasteman,” Stephen King’s “The Long Walk” for Lionsgate and the HBO finance drama “Industry.”

On the stage, he received the Black British Theatre Award for Best Actor for his performance in “And Breathe” at London’s Almeida Theatre.

For Jonsson, the appointment reflects a shared love of creativity and reinvention. “Film has always fascinated me. From costumes to cameras, it’s pure play. I’m proud to call it my craft. I always want to be somewhere I can redefine,” he said. “I feel deeply connected to the spirit of Loewe. It’s a playground. I’m excited for the fun.”

McCollough and Hernandez said Jonsson’s thoughtful and fearless approach to acting resonated with the house’s own creative philosophy.

“David’s approach to craft is attentive, exploratory, unafraid of complexity,” they said. “In his work, as in ours, the surface is never the whole story.”

Jonsson’s slate shows no signs of slowing down. He is set to appear in A24’s “The Chaperones,” Frank Ocean’s highly anticipated feature directorial debut, and Halina Reijn’s “Please,” alongside Gracie Abrams, Tom Burke and Connor Storrie, further cementing his status as one of the industry’s brightest emerging talents.

Jonsson follows the appointment of fellow Brit actor Isla Johnston, who was named the inaugural brand ambassador for the design duo’s new era at Loewe in February.
