The First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, made a dazzling entrance at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Biden opted for a sparkling long-sleeve top featuring yellow-green paillettes and a pair of belted black wide leg trousers from Sergio Hudson’s spring 2024 collection.

The First Lady added on layered bangles and a pair of statement earrings, completing her look with a wide belt adorned with a silver buckle.

At the dinner, Biden spoke about the importance of LGBTQ+ rights.

“Today, this community is under attack. Rights are being stripped away. Freedoms are eroding. More and more state laws are being passed targeting this community,” she said. “And each time, we have persevered, we have pulled ourselves up from the depths of despair – with hope, with grace, and with love.”

The First Lady also cited her husband, President Joe Biden’s efforts to expand and protect the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans.

“Thanks to President Biden, marriage equality is now the law of the land. He ended the ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood. He’s made it possible for trans Americans to serve openly, honorably in the military. And he’s standing firmly against conversion therapy,” she continued.

Biden isn’t the only first lady to favor Sergio Hudson’s designs. Michelle Obama has worn multiple looks from the American label, including at the inauguration of President Biden in 2021.

The Human Rights Campaign, founded in 1980, is an advocacy group for LGBTQ+ Americans.
