Margot Robbie, Rosamund Pike and more stars brought subtle florals to the red carpet at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday. Eschewing bold maximalist botanical prints, celebrities opted for simple patterns and appliques — many of which also featured a touch of sparkle.
As reported by WWD, florals are poised for a comeback this year as labels like Simone Rocha, Richard Quinn and Marni set the trend on the runways of London, Paris and Milan.

Margot Robbie
Robbie sported a ravishing red off-the-shoulder gown by Balmain. Her custom frock featured a mermaid silhouette and rosette appliques along the neckline. The “Barbie” star accessorized with $3 million of Lorraine Schwartz jewels, including 60-carat diamond earrings and a 35-carat diamond ring.
Rosamund Pike
Pike sparkled in a blue sequined gown by Rodarte. Adorned with a floral belt at the waist, the frock also featured a plunging neckline. The “Saltburn” star completed her ensemble with large drop earrings and a cocktail ring, both by Fred Leighton.
Sandra Oh
Sandra Oh’s white Harbison Studio gown featured a ruffled halter neckline and a large floral applique at the waist. The actress accessorized with Manolo Blahnik pumps, a Carolina Herrera clutch and Vhernier jewelry.
Emily Blunt
Emily Blunt opted for a red one-shoulder gown featuring a large rosette atop the sleeve. The actress’ Armani Privé dress, which came dotted with sequins, debuted as part of the label’s fall 2023 couture collection. Blunt also added on yellow gold and diamond jewels by Tiffany & Co.
Ali Wong
“Beef” star Ali Wong donned a green gown by Givenchy, which came from the label’s spring 2024 collection. The actress and comedian’s sheer frock featured floral patterns on the skirt and bodice. Wong completed her ensemble with a pair of matching open-toe platforms by Brandon Blackwood, as well as emerald and diamond jewelry.
The Critics Choice Awards recognize the greatest film and television achievements of the year. Hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler, the 29th annual ceremony airs live on The CW on Sunday, Jan. 14. Margot Robbie will honor her “Barbie” co-star, America Ferrera, with the SeeHer Award, while James Mangold will present Harrison Ford with the Career Achievement Award.
