Gabriela Hearst has been named the newest ambassador for Save the Children.
A long-standing supporter and former trustee, Hearst seeks to further her impactful contributions in her new role and raise awareness about the issues facing kids globally.
“We are excited to welcome Gabriela Hearst as our newest Save the Children ambassador. Gabriela is a passionate and outspoken advocate for children — both as a generous supporter of our work and through her years as a Save the Children trustee,” said Janti Soeripto, president and chief executive officer of Save the Children U.S. “Her steadfast dedication to making the world a better place is deeply embedded in everything she does, personally and professionally, and we’re so grateful for her continued partnership in helping change the lives of children and families around the world.”
Hearst told WWD, “Save the Children is my service family for life. Investing in children is investing in our future. It is such an honor to be working since 2017 with this organization founded by the trailblazing and courageous Eglantyne Jebb in 1919. Save the Children was founded by a visionary and her spirit has been carried on by the geniuses of logistics bringing help in the most challenging places and the fierce leaders that shine a bright light in challenging times. I have such deep admiration for the commitment that it takes to be a humanitarian as a vocation. Such calling in today’s world takes bravery and love. I am filled with pride to be an ambassador to such great people.”

Hearst, who was born and raised on her family’s ranch in Uruguay, has brought her passion for sustainability to her women’s luxury label, championing a conscious and ethical approach to business. This commitment to environmental and social justice is also reflected in her support of Save the Children, including initiatives to address child hunger and emergency response through the organization’s Children’s Emergency Fund, one of the largest flexible humanitarian funds in the world that enables Save the Children to prepare and respond as soon as crises strike, delivering life-saving support.
Hearst began her journey with Save the Children in 2017 when she visited programs in rural Kenya. Witnessing the devastation caused by drought, which put millions of people at risk of famine, she was determined to help. She pledged $600,000 to cover the needs of 1,000 families in the communities she visited, launching her first fundraising campaign to benefit Save the Children and raising the pledged sum in two days. Since then, Hearst has consistently contributed to the Children’s Emergency Fund with her label’s annual holiday campaign for six consecutive years.
Hearst served as a member of the organization’s board of trustees from 2018 to 2025 and as a cofounder of 100 Strong, Save the Children’s women philanthropic leadership network.
From Dec. 1 through Dec. 25, 100 percent of net proceeds across all ready-to-wear, handbags and accessories in Hearst’s flagship stores at 985 Madison Avenue and 59 Brook Street in London and gabrielahearst.com will be donated to the Save the Children, Children’s Emergency Fund.
