Gap has officially launched its first collection under GapStudio, a new high-end segment designed to elevate the brand’s reputation for craftsmanship and style. Created by Zac Posen, Gap Inc.’s executive vice president and creative director, Collection 01 reflects Posen’s signature approach to tailoring and draping while reimagining Gap’s core textiles like denim and poplin.

“Inside Gap’s New York HQ, we’ve built a creative studio where I’ve designed looks for the red carpet, and where we’ll continue to collaborate with visionary talent in the future,” said Posen via statement. “GapStudio Collection 01 reflects that vision — blending tailoring with innovative denim treatments that sculpt and refine the fabric in new ways. This is just the beginning.”

Key pieces in the collection include the denim tailored trench coat ($248), double-breasted denim blazer ($178), high rise denim sailor pant ($128) and poplin maxi shirtdress ($158). The collection also features classic Gap colorways such as navy and khaki alongside a bold “pop-orange” hue.

The campaign for Collection 01 was photographed and directed by Mario Sorrenti, with styling by Alastair McKimm. It features models Alex Consani, Imaan Hammam and Anok Yai.

GapStudio marks a new chapter for the brand as it seeks to compete in the premium fashion space while maintaining accessibility.

“For over 55 years, Gap has been a canvas for creativity, allowing creators to reinvent Gap classics as personal expressions of style. Now with GapStudio, we’re taking that legacy to the next level,” said Mark Breitbard, president and CEO, Gap brand. “GapStudio creates both accessible, coveted retail collections and exclusive, one-of-a-kind designs that celebrate self-expression and solidify Gap’s place in culture.”

Collection 01 will be available on Thursday in select U.S. stores, including locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and Chicago, as well as online and in international markets. Prices range from $78 to $248.

The concept for GapStudio emerged shortly after Posen’s appointment in February 2024. Initially, the studio operated as a creative incubator within Gap’s New York headquarters, producing one-of-a-kind pieces for red carpet events. Anne Hathaway and Da’Vine Joy Randolph were some of the celebrities who modeled GapStudios designs on the red carpet.
