Gillian Anderson juxtaposed delicate, hyper-feminine fashion with funky hair on the Miu Miu Fall 2026 ready-to-wear runway during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday, where she walked in between Kristen McMenamy and Kayako Higuchi.

Dressed in a sequin-embroidered, buttercream dress, “The X Files” actress strut down the catwalk with her muddy blond hair styled in a zig zag headband à la Willow Rosenberg in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Similar to the early 2000s butterfly clip trend, the headband brushed Anderson’s front layers away from her face like fingers running through her hair. Chloë Sevigny was also seen sporting the bumpy hair aesthetic in a black leather jacket and minidress set on the Miu Miu runway.

Once a favorite of fictional rom-com characters such as Cher in “Clueless” and Bianca in “10 Things I Hate About You,” the zig zag headband, otherwise known as the comb headband, has been making a comeback lately amid a wider ’90s beauty resurgence, in which matte, cool-toned contour, vampy lips and beige-cut creases are favored over bronzy glam. Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and even Dylan Sprouse have have been seen sporting the drugstore accessory.

The return of the headband is also being met with a penchant for quiet ponytails on the runway. Major designers such as Fendi and Jil Sander used the relaxed hairdo in their fall 2026 presentations, tapping stylists Anthony Turner and Guido Palou, respectively, to craft it. Unlike the high pony, a quiet ponytail is not structured or slicked; it’s loose and lived-in. The long tail lays flat along the back as if its been slept on.
