Grab your heels and get ready to embrace your inner Brittany S. Pierce. Straight out of Glee club, celebrity actress, dancer, and producer Heather Morris leads you through this full-body dance workout, incorporating moves inspired by Britney Spears, Beyoncé, and Rihanna. In just 30 minutes, she’ll show you how to dance in high heels, with sequences designed to get your heart rate up, activate your glutes, and engage your core. By the end of the class, you’ll feel like a total pro, thanks to empowering choreography guaranteed to have you feeling yourself.

You’ll start the class with heels off, pressing through the feet to warm up. From here, you’ll add your heels, using a chair for parts of the choreography. Expect to body roll, squat, and shimmy your way through the first few sections, playing with levels and building your confidence. “If anybody’s in your house right now, they might be wondering what we’re doing,” Morris says mid-straddle. “Just say, ‘I’m working out, I’m looking good!'”

Anyone can enjoy these dance moves, even if you don’t have heels prepared. But for those wanting to experiment with their footwear, Morris recommends a lower heel to start. “There is NO NEED for you to be on stilts for your first-ever heels class,” she tells POPSUGAR, adding that there are plenty of affordable options on Amazon. If you’ve never danced in heels before, she gives a gentle reminder that all good things take time.

“Be patient with yourself and commit!” Morris says. “With any new practice, it most likely will not come naturally. However, with continued practice, you’ll begin to feel empowered and sexy.” That also means you shouldn’t be afraid to use the support of a chair for extra stability if you need it. When it comes to embracing your own kind of Brittany S. Pierce confidence, Morris has only one thing to say: “Be the magic unicorn you know you are!”
