MILAN — Few have made the leap from PR manager to creative director, but for some it’s a natural progression. Guillaume Delacroix, who has worked with Balenciaga and Giorgio Armani and started the Paris PR firm DLX in 2015, is one such example. On Thursday, he was named chief creative officer of collectible design platform Monde Singulier.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Paris, Monde Singulier has evolved in source for high-end, made-to-order design pieces from both emerging and renowned talents like Milan-based firm Dimoremilano and Chapo Creations, the furniture brand started by French fashion designer Yves Salomon.

Delacroix, who is taking an equity stake in the firm, said his involvement with Monde Singulier began two years ago, when DLX began representing the company and handling its press. “It happened very naturally and is a continuation of what I have been doing for a few years, but just in an official role,” Delacroix told WWD, adding that he introduced the firm to new talents and forged collaborations with architects on the design scene on a regular basis.

In this new role, Delacroix will lead the creative and artistic direction of Monde Singulier, shaping its aesthetic identity, curatorial strategy and brand voice across all platforms. He will also play a role in pinpointing talents in creative markets like the U.S., Europe and the Middle East and help designers build their collections. “Part of the role is adding items that sell well on the website — things they haven’t really thought of — to help them build cohesive collections that are representative of their DNA,” he said.

Monde Singulier’s chief executive officer Alexis Grimaud commented on Delacroix’s unique perspective and savvy in building bridges between the worlds of design, art and culture. “His creative sensibility will also allow us to raise the bar even further and assert our presence on the international design stage.”

Delacroix will remain in his role at DLX. On Thursday, Monde Singulier also said it received a “significant” strategic investment from Bofill Architecture, which was founded in 1963 by the visionary Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill. The injection of fresh capital will help the firm expand into new markets, develop proprietary technology, create new verticals and strengthen its distribution network, it said. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
