Pink, but pointed — Gwyneth Paltrow opened her Monday morning in New York with a pair of cutaway pumps that blurred the line between bootie and d’orsay as she arrived outside “Good Morning America” on Monday morning.

The pumps featured a sharply pointed toe, a slim stiletto heel and a closed back counter, with enough coverage along the inner foot to read like a bootie at first glance. A deep cutaway along the outer side interrupted that enclosure, opening into a d’orsay-style silhouette that exposed the side of the foot and shifted the shoe’s profile depending on the angle.

From the front and inner profile, the shoe presented as structured and enclosed, its line running higher along the foot than a traditional pump. From the outer side, the cutaway reasserted itself, thinning the silhouette and restoring the openness associated with d’orsay constructions, giving the silhouette a modern, hybrid feel.

Paltrow paired the pumps with a glossy head-to-toe look from Calvin Klein Collection by Veronica Leoni’s spring 2026 lineup, matching a button-front shirt with cropped trousers in saturated pink satin. The shirt followed the line of her torso, while the trousers ran straight through the leg with a pressed front crease. A tonal belt with a metal buckle finished the look at the natural waist.

Elizabeth Saltzman styled the outfit, continuing Paltrow’s recent run of pointed-toe heels. Earlier in December, the Goop founder wore scarlet stilettos with an ivory tweed dress at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala. During Milan Fashion Week in September, she arrived at Gucci’s spring 2026 show in knee-high monogram boots from Demna’s first lineup for the house.

Paltrow has also leaned into slingbacks in recent months, wearing green suede Trap cross-slingback pumps from Proenza Schouler while filming a commercial in New York and black kitten heel slingbacks for the Michael Kors show during New York Fashion Week. Monday’s pumps kept the pointed shape and traded the open back for cutaway construction with full coverage at the heel.

Cutaway and d’orsay-style pumps have been circulating widely this season. Demi Moore recently wore Tom Ford’s black patent Eva pumps — a loafer-front d’orsay silhouette set on a high stiletto — for a visit to “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” Solange Knowles chose Lucasheva’s Barbara pump for a Saint Heron Library event in New York, a design defined by a deep V-cut vamp and curved side opening. Paltrow’s latest pair joined that group, using the asymmetric pump idea in a tonal pink palette for a daytime television call.
