After attending Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods’ star-studded wedding in Malibu on Saturday, Hailey and Justin Bieber kept the weekend fun going with a trip to Dodger Stadium on Sunday to watch the Los Angeles team play the Milwaukee Brewers. Bieber eschewed a sporty or closed shoe for the event in lieu of one of her favorite footwear looks: a kitten heel thong sandal.
After dressing up the day before in a Versace gown for the wedding, the Rhode founder kept things pared back and casual for the MLB outing. She opted for a black leather kitten heel thong sandal with a classic flip-flop style strap design and mini heel to go with other wardrobe staples: a pair of loose, dark wash blue jeans (her viral Gap collaboration, we might imagine), a white high-neck tank top and a Yukon baseball cap (her husband has a song named for the car).

This ultra-minimalist shoe look — which has become one of the hottest footwear styles of the summer in the women’s market — is truly a go-to style for Bieber, who once told Harper’s Bazaar that one of her fashion item obsessions is “These black, like, little thong flip-flops that have the little baby kitten heel. I wear them every day.” From jeans to capris, she’s proved they pair well with a variety of outfits.
While a heeled thong sandal is perhaps not typically associated with dressing for sporting events, Bieber’s not alone in opting for this aesthetic at a game: Kylie Jenner modeled Manolo Blahnik’s Paterno sandal at a Knicks playoffs game with Timothée Chalamet earlier this year. Knicks fan Martha Stewart, however, cautioned against wearing open-toe shoes to sit courtside after Jalen Brunson fell on her during a game and broke her toe.
Suffice to say, while thong sandals might be trending, proceed with caution at sporting events.
