Hannah Einbinder took a bite out of Celine for the 2026 WWD Honors on Tuesday night in New York City.
The Emmy Award-winning “Hacks” star turned to the French brand’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection for her red carpet look. Clad in monochrome black, Einbinder sported a sinuously sculptural minidress with puffy shoulders and a rounded skirt.
The neckline of the dress featured a playful, pointed collar, with buttons running down the front placket. Along with the dress, Einbinder wore sheer black tights with a pair of pointed-toe pumps. Accessories were minimal, save for a pair of pearl drop earrings.

Einbinder’s look was curated by stylist Karla Welch, who also works with Sarah Paulson and “Sense and Sensibility” breakout star Esmé Creed-Miles. Einbinder was on-hand to celebrate Celine artistic director Michael Rider, who was honored with the Menswear Designer of the Year award on Tuesday night.
Einbinder’s dress was the ideal subtle, sartorial homage to Rider, whose fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection made its debut during Paris Fashion Week in March 2026.
“Michael Rider has crystallized his fashion sweet spot as classics ‘with bite,’” Miles Socha wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
“It’s a trenchant way to sum up his magnificent clothes, which are familiar, often sober and sometimes austere — but sharpened or disrupted, so a tailored jacket or slim pants might flare out in a slightly gawky way, or the gold buttons on a jacket or coat might seem abnormally small, but there’s something cool about that,” Socha wrote.
“To be sure, this collection was more dressed-up and styled to a tee: from the demonstrative derby and bucket hats on down to the squishy plimsolls or kitten-heel granny boots, often in white — outré for fall.”
The 2026 WWD Honors was held Tuesday at Cipriani South Street in New York, where LVMH’s Bernard Arnault received the John B. Fairchild Honor. Tom Ford’s Haider Ackermann and Celine’s Michael Rider were recognized for womenswear and menswear design, respectively, while G-III Apparel Group’s Morris Goldfarb received the Creative Leadership Honor and Henry Zankov was named One to Watch. The event coincided with WWD’s Apparel & Retail CEO Summit.
