The first time I heard about a full-body facial I was . . . confused but not completely turned off by the idea. I tried a “vajacial” (vagina facial) last year and know people who have gotten a “bacial” (back facial), so honestly, nothing really surprises me anymore. The full-body facial in question is called a Glo2Facial, created by the company Geneo. It’s a three-step facial treatment that promises glowing skin with zero downtime.

I had heard whispers online that the Glo2Facial was loved by celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, but, number one, everything I had heard was strictly about the face – not the body – and number two, I wasn’t convinced it would give me better results than any other run-of-the-mill facial. (Although, to be clear, I freaking love a facial.) To try it out, I visited Olivia Sparks at Papaya Skin Loft in Beverly Hills, and the entire experience was different than anything I had tried in the past.

Keep scrolling to read more about my experience getting a full-body Glo2Facial and find out whether or not it lives up to the hype.

What Is a Glo2Facial?

Although it’s called a facial, it can be done anywhere on the body. I chose to have it done on my face, my chest, my back, my butt, and my thighs to get the full-body facial experience.

If you opt to try a Geneo Glo2Facial on multiple areas of the body as I did, you can customize the treatment by body part, and there are seven different treatment customizations you can choose from: Balance, which helps fight acne and minimize oil production; Detox, to protect skin against environmental aggressors; Glam, to improve skin elasticity; Hydrate, to enhance moisture retention; Illuminate, to help reduce skin pigmentation; Retouch, to help with uneven texture; and Revive, which is geared toward mature skin and those who are looking to reduce fine lines.

I was mainly having issues with dry skin, so we chose to do the Hydrate customization on my entire body. Each treatment has three main steps: exfoliation and oxygenation, ultrasound, and lymphatic drainage. The treatments are performed using different handheld devices attached to the Geneo machine, similar to what you’d experience during a Hydrafacial or a DiamondGlow facial.

What to Expect During a Glo2Facial

My treatment started with my face, then moved to my chest, then my butt and my thighs. Sparks started out by thoroughly cleansing my skin. Next, she applied a primer gel all over my face, then she went over it using a Geneo OxyPod, which was attached to the Geneo machine. The OxyPod is what holds the skin-care ingredients based on your choice of customization.

The Hydrate option I chose includes blue spirulina to improve moisture retention, niacinamide to reduce the appearance of pores, and lactobionic acid to gently exfoliate. The OxyPod honestly looks similar to a dishwasher pod, and it felt like I was having one rubbed across my face throughout my experience. It wasn’t uncomfortable or too abrasive, but there was a tiny bit of warmth, which Sparks said is called “stingling,” a mix of stinging and tingling. Overall, I didn’t find it to be too intense.

After wrapping my face in a hot towel and removing any excess product from my skin, Sparks did extractions anywhere I had blemishes. From there, she applied a blend of serums to my face, which she said would penetrate my skin using ultrasound therapy. The ultrasound experience was soothing and relaxing, and I could have fallen asleep during it. Last, Sparks gave me a lymphatic drainage massage using the handheld device, which she said would reduce redness and puffiness.

After repeating these steps on my face and chest, Sparks completed them on my butt and the backs of my thighs as well.

My Glo2Facial Results

The entire process took over two-and-a-half hours, but by the end, I was so relaxed I couldn’t believe it. Not to mention I was quite literally glowing. Although I had some red marks on my face from where the extractions were performed, my skin looked brighter, and it felt so much more hydrated. I also noticed that a dark acne mark on the side of my face looked lighter and brighter immediately after the treatment, which was another plus. The skin on my butt and the backs of my legs looked and felt tighter as well, and the hydrated feeling on every area of my body lasted for an entire week.

Although I don’t think I’m going to make a full-body facial part of my monthly routine, I absolutely will find time to get Glo2Facials, especially on my face.

If you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, I can’t recommend it enough. The cost for a Glo2Facial on just the face at Papaya Skin Loft is $225, but pricing will depend on your location and the provider you choose to visit, as well as what body parts and how many body parts you choose to have worked on.
