Jessica Chastain touched down in Morocco on Friday to attend the Marrakech International Film Festival, where she serves as this year’s jury president.
“Being entrusted with this role is a privilege and I look forward to celebrating incredible global talent within the world of cinema,” the actress said in a statement released last month.
For the festival’s opening night, Chastain opted for a custom ensemble by Armani Privé, which included a beaded cape from the couture label’s fall 2021 collection worn over a diamanté jumpsuit. The actress completed her look with a pair of open-toe pumps.
Chastain’s auburn tresses were styled in a high ponytail, courtesy of hairdresser Christian Wood. Meanwhile, makeup artist Mary Greenwell gave her sparkly taupe eyeshadow and a mauve lip.
The following evening, Chastain changed into a black Balmain gown featuring a plunging neckline and pink satin tie-front detailing at the bodice. Wood and Greenwell returned as the actress’ glam squad, providing the actress with natural waves, grey eyeshadow and a nude lip.
Chastain’s longtime stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, curated her looks for the festival’s first days. Stewart is also known for dressing A-listers like Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis and Julia Roberts.
Earlier this month, Chastain celebrated the conclusion of a historic Screen Actors Guild strike. For four months, most Hollywood productions were paused while the union bargained with major studios. Chastain remained a vocal supporter of SAG throughout the four-month strike.
“So proud of our incredible leadership and the thousands of members who stood in solidarity,” Chastain wrote on Instagram. “Let’s get back to work!”
