Jill Biden joined her husband, President Joe Biden, onstage during CNN’s Presidential Debate on Thursday. The first lady of the U.S. showed her support for her husband as he debated Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in Atlanta.
For the occasion, Jill gave power suiting an update and softened the fashion trend. The first lady opted for a periwinkle three-piece suit, which included high-waisted, tailored trousers with a tapered leg, a single-breasted blazer and a coordinated blouse.
The first lady coordinated the suit with a pair of neutral gray pointed to pumps. Jill also embellished her look with a few glittering touches. She added two sparkling brooches to one lapel of her blazer and accessorized with a glimmering necklace and drop pearl earrings.

Along with her appearance at the debate, Jill joined President Biden at a debate watch party at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta. Both President Biden and his wife addressed attendees who gathered to watch the debate.
Power suiting is a recent go-to style the first lady fashioned for a few key events amid election season. On Wednesday, Jill was joined by her daughter Ashley Biden, who she shares with President Biden, on the South Lawn of the White House for a Pride Month celebration. For the event, Jill opted for another colorful spin on power suiting.
The first lady opted for a three-piece suit complete with tailored trousers, single-breasted blazer and blouse in a shade of mint green. The ensemble served as the ideal complementary piece to Ashley’s attire. She wore the Malibu Midi Dress courtesy of Revolve Clothing, which featured an ombre design with shades of blue, green, yellow, orange and pink transitioning into one another.

The first lady’s style tends to include soft hues and vibrant colors, which may be a significant element of her power suiting style in the months ahead.
