Jodie Foster spent her first weekend in Marrakech making a clear point about tailoring.

For opening night of the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival, Foster opted for a black Gabriela Hearst ensemble. The Aleah blazer, made from a floral silk jacquard with structured shoulders and straightforward lapels, was matched to the high-waist Norman trousers.

The trousers carried the same jacquard from waistband to hem and were cut in a wide leg that kept the texture continuous. She added Hearst’s double-satin Anderson blouse underneath, featuring a draped scarf panel and long, hand-embroidered fringe. The look was styled by Samantha McMillen.

The next night, when she accepted the festival’s Tribute award, she kept to her suiting style but this time in white. The jacket was cut with one button and clean lapels, and it sat over straight black trousers. A black bow at the lapel gave the set its only contrast. The look leaned into tuxedo influences without overstatement — a long jacket line, uninterrupted black trousers and a graphic monochrome balance.

The two-night rotation lands squarely within a broader tailoring moment on late-2025 carpets. Ciara recently stepped onto the CFDA Fashion Awards red carpet in a white Sergio Hudson power suit, Michelle Obama endorsed Matthieu Blazy’s first Chanel collection in a checked wool pantsuit on her book-tour stop in New York, and Kate Middleton returned to streamlined tailoring earlier in the month in a gray Roland Mouret set at the Future Workforce Summit.

Saturday’s ceremony concluded with Foster receiving the festival’s Tribute award, which honors people for their impact on film. Her wardrobe echoed that through-line — two precise suits, each anchored by material detail and proportion, defining her Marrakech weekend through a tailored point of view.
