Kate Hudson continued her press run for “Song Sung Blue” in Los Angeles on Friday, building her latest screening look around one of fall’s defining boot shapes. The actress arrived in Tory Burch’s Twisted Heel High Boots in cognac, a knee-high silhouette built in smooth leather with a softened square toe and a 3.5-inch angled block heel.
The style’s construction stays clean through the shaft. A discreet side zipper maintains the uninterrupted profile, while the square toe places the pair firmly within the renewed interest in squared-off fronts circulating through celebrity wardrobes this season. Jordyn Woods, Taylor Momsen and Charli XCX have each incorporated square-toe boots into their recent appearances — from Woods’ court-side look at Madison Square Garden to Momsen’s Versace platform boots and Charli’s fall outings in her Fidan Novruzova pair.
Hudson’s cognac shade adds another layer to the trend equation. Burnished brown tones have been a consistent element in her latest footwear choices, including the chocolate suede boots she wore to a previous “Song Sung Blue” screening in late October. Those featured a pointed toe and slouched calf-height shaft, contrasting with the structured knee-high approach of the Tory Burch style. Earlier this year, Hudson also leaned into taller silhouettes while performing at BottleRock, where she wore Jimmy Choo’s thigh-high Cece boots with a lace dress from Chloé.

For Friday’s appearance, Hudson’s stylist Sophie Lopez selected a Prada wool-and-cashmere crew-neck sweater and a rose washed-satin skirt for Hudson’s look. The mix of matte knit and glossy satin set up a subdued palette, with the cognac boots introducing the sharpest structure.
“Song Sung Blue,” out Dec. 25, follows a Milwaukee couple who form a Neil Diamond tribute act, charting their highs and setbacks through music and partnership. Hudson’s press tour has blended more relaxed daytime looks with sharper evening moments, and Friday’s screening added another fall-focused entry — one that ties her wardrobe to the square-toe boot shift continuing to shape celebrity dressing this season.
