Although I love my arsenal of tinted lip balms and lip oils, I miss sporting a bolder, pigmented lip that doesn’t require me to reapply constantly. Without a flush of color, my lips look washed out, and it’s not a good look. I’m that person who has to halt a selfie to apply a lip product before the photo opp, and I carry at least three different lip products in my purse at all times. I appreciate the hydration lip balms provide, but I also need long-lasting pigment like a lip stain. Luckily, one of my favorite brands, Kulfi Beauty, came out with staining lip oils that claim to do both.
Kulfi Beauty’s Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil ($24) is supposed to go on glossy, keeping your lips moisturized. As the formula dries down, it leaves a perfectly pigmented, long-wearing stain. I’m already a big fan of the brand’s Heirloom Satin Lipsticks for the nude and pink shades that cater to all skin tones and undertones, so I was excited to see how these stains look on my tan skin.
Keep reading for my full review of the Kulfi Beauty Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil, which includes swatches of all the shades, and find out if this lip oil is actually long-lasting.

What I Like About the Kulfi Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil
I’m incredibly impressed by the Lassi Lips flattering shade range because each and every tone worked for me. I think this is the first time an entire line of lip colors actually felt flattering without the use of other products layered on top. From neutral or natural shades to bold and bright ones, this line has everything you need for a pigmented lip. If you have tan or dark skin like I do, the Caramel and Rose shades may not appear to be visible immediately after applying, however, the color does develop after a few seconds, delivering a “my lips but better” look.
The staying power of this product is also impressive, especially while eating and drinking. During a weekend brunch, you can see that the color faded during a four hour span, but there’s still a natural stain that remains. My lips stayed like that for the rest of the day, even after doing my nighttime routine and double-cleansing. The darker, bolder shades have a more impactful stain compared to the lighter shades.
The formula’s texture is lightweight and nonsticky, perfect for the summertime. It goes on with a slightly watery feel, but the oily slip delivers moisture to your lips without feeling heavy. After drinking and eating, and even swimming or sweating in the heat, the formula does not budge. It doesn’t feather or flake off like other lip stains, and the color barely transfers as you can see above, unlike most lip products.
How to Use the Kulfi Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil
You can apply the Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil like any other lip product with a doefoot applicator by swiping it across your lips. Since this applicator is thin and tapered, you can line the perimeter of your lips and define your cupid’s bow for a mess-free, precise application. The formula is buildable, depending on the staining saturation and gloss level you desire. If you want a bold, pigmented lip with a high-shine gloss, you can layer it on. If you prefer a natural stain, stick to one to two layers of the formula.
What to Consider Before Trying the Kulfi Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil
The Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil has become my go-to lip product for pretty much every look. I tend to use it on my lips, then layer a second product on top so the stain remains as a consistent base throughout the day. Although the Lassi Lips oil delivers moisture right off the bat, the hydration won’t last nearly as long as the pigment does. To maintain shine and hydration, you can top up the stain with a regular lip balm if you prefer not to add more pigment. My current go-to lip combination is layering the Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusions Plump + Repair Lip Treatment on top of the Lassi Lips Staining Lip Oil; you get plump, deeply hydrated lips with long-lasting pigment.
