Lauren Sanchez continued her lace style streak on Sunday while attending Monse’s pre-Met Gala cocktail party in New York. The fiancée of Jeff Bezos donned a black bustier minidress made of sheer fabric with floral embroidery and ruching throughout.
Sanchez was styled by Emmy-winning stylist Kelly Johnson, who has worked with her many times before, including at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in February when Sanchez wore a dramatic red dress by Lever Couture. Johnson also works with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Lisa Ann Walter.
Lace has become a style signature of Sanchez. On April 10, she donned a red lace and satin corset maxidress by Rasario from the 2024 resort collection to attend the White House state dinner for Japan in Washington, D.C. On March 14, Sanchez wore a similar lace dress, this time in navy blue, to attend the 2024 Bezos Courage and Civility Awards in Los Angeles.
The Monse’s pre-Met Gala party was held in celebration of the brand’s founders Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, who also serve as creative directors at Oscar de la Renta. Pamela Anderson, who will wear Oscar de la Renta for the Met Gala on Monday, and Doja Cat, who was accompanied by Vetements designer Guram Gvasalia, were also in attendance.
The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” nods to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will open to the public on Friday. The 2024 event is notably co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
