Lily-Rose Depp took Chanel’s two-tone slingbacks into pastel territory Monday at the 2026 Met Gala, wearing pale blue cap-toe heels from the French house.
Depp’s Chanel slingbacks came in glossy pale blue leather with a low-cut vamp, a softly pointed black cap toe and a two-strap back. One slim strap curved across the back of the heel, while a second pale blue band wrapped lower around the heel counter, leaving an open cutout between the two. Dipped side cutouts exposed the arch, and the mid-height heel flared slightly at the top before curving inward and narrowing to a small black tip.
The pair fit neatly into Chanel’s newly active two-tone shoe story. Matthieu Blazy reworked the house’s cap-toe proportions for his spring 2026 debut, using sharper contrasts, smaller toe accents and graphic trim across pumps, slingbacks and mules.

Her silk gray silk crepe de chine dress was embroidered with flowers, pearls and beads. Chanel cut the open-back dress with a softly draped neckline, a straight shape and a longer panel that trailed from one side. Small pastel and silver-toned embroidery elements appeared across the front and gathered more densely near the hem. At the hip, Chanel added a flower made of feathers and pastel silk organza fringe, with long pink, blue and gray strands falling beside the skirt.
The house said 597 hours and about 2,000 embroidery elements went into the look. Depp also wore Chanel High Jewelry, including the Plume Singulière de Chanel necklace as a transformable brooch in 18-karat white gold and diamonds. She added the Plume 1932 ring and Jeanne ring, both in white gold and diamonds.
The appearance added another chapter to Depp’s long Chanel relationship. Karl Lagerfeld named her a Chanel ambassador in 2015, and she has since fronted campaigns for the house’s eyewear, fragrance, makeup and accessories.
It also continued Depp’s Met Gala history with the house. Her most recent Met Gala appearance was in 2021, when she wore a two-piece sequined Chanel look from the house’s spring 2015 couture collection, which she paired with black peep-toe pumps. For the 2019 Met Gala, Depp chose a chain-embellished Chanel spring 1992 dress that Christy Turlington had first modeled on the runway.
The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event featured Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
