Lindsey Vonn served high-shine edge on the red carpet at her namesake Red Bull event Tuesday evening, arriving in a look that fused classic glam with motorsport-level intensity. The Olympic gold medalist, who has long bridged the worlds of sport and style, leaned into sleek silhouettes and bold textures, including a shoe silhouette that has become something of a celebrity footwear trend.

Vonn stepped out in black patent stilettos with a sharply pointed toe and thin ankle strap that buckled just above the heel. The glossy finish gave the heels a sleek, mirror-like shine, while the 4-inch lift added just enough height to accentuate the leg without overpowering the look. Classic, yes — but with the kind of bite that makes sense under the Red Bull banner. The silhouette echoes popular styles from labels like Gianvito Rossi, Schutz and Aquazzura, all of which continue to produce variations of the ankle-strap pump for summer 2025.

This season, ankle-strap stilettos have emerged as a red carpet staple for celebrities seeking to add polish without stealing the spotlight. Kristin Cavallari wore a crisscross ankle-strap sandal during a recent “Watch What Happens Live” appearance, while Meagan Good has made the slinky stiletto her signature across multiple award shows this year. Jordan Chiles, too, took the trend sky-high with peep-toe platform versions at the Black Excellence Brunch earlier this month.

Vonn styled the shoes with a black long-sleeve bodysuit featuring a plunging neckline and layered chain detail. She paired it with a black croc-embossed miniskirt with dual zippers and a high-shine finish, adding dimension through texture while keeping the palette monochromatic. A studded clutch, black manicure and pedicure, and loose waves completed the look, giving the entire ensemble a touch of intensity.

The former alpine skier’s appearance at the event, which celebrated 20 years of partnership with Red Bull, marked a departure from her more tailored looks, including the Thom Browne navy suit with matching heels she wore to the Paris Olympics opening ceremony last summer.
