LoveShackFancy is known for its ultra-feminine aesthetic, and for the fall 2024 season Rebecca Hessel Cohen showed that the brand’s “It” girl can also have a wild side.

“It’s our girls after dark,” the designer said during a preview. “You might think she’s this perfect sweet southern girl, but really she likes to party, she likes to go out and she loves to dance. There are so many different types of LoveShackFancy girls, so I think this is just a way to push it in that element.”

Hessel Cohen leaned into this wild side by presenting her fall 2024 collection at New York’s famously raunchy nightclub The Box, showcasing a lineup of ultra-feminine-meets-Burlesque pieces alongside an array of models, dancers, drag queens and mimes.

Corsets and bustiers were the hallmarks of the collection, with styles created in the brand’s signature lace and floral motifs. The styles were an edgier direction but one that felt like a natural progression for the feminine brand that’s been rooted in design codes like bows, lace and ruffle embroidery. Many styles balanced this feminine and edgy feel, such as a pink lace corset paired with a silk skirt with bow cutouts or a white bustier minidress with an exaggerated tulle train.

The designer again focused on intricate beading work and hand embroidery in looks such as a white fully beaded skirt and a ruffle and bead-accented maxidress. LoveShackFancy also offered new takes on the red carpet dresses it introduced for spring, including a nude, bead-embellished dress with accent bows and a black lace maxidress.

While pink and white dominated, a moody element was injected via black and plum hues. The darker-hued looks were given an edgier element by mixing textures, such as in paillette-embellished maxi and minidresses and black dresses with lace and ruffles.

Like prior seasons, Hessel Cohen wasn’t shy about adding some sparkle, which gave the whimsical lineup another touch of playfulness.

LoveShackFancy’s fall 2024 collection showed the brand’s innate understanding of its ultra-feminine customer and how to deliver youthful and playful styles that resonate season-after-season.
