Jessie Buckley, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Penélope Cruz are bringing back the bob and side bang combo. The trio of stars donned the highly controversial, mid-2000s hairstyle at “The Bride” photocall in London on Wednesday, alongside costars Christian Bale, Peter Sarsgaard and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Gyllenhaal and Buckley looked identical, standing hand-in-hand outside the Corinthia Hotel. Their hair — Gyllenhaal’s a chocolate brown shade and Buckley’s a butter blond mix — was trimmed chin length and parted on opposite sides of their heads. While Gyllenhaal’s aesthetic evoked Old Hollywood heroine with a refined bend around the face, Buckley’s choppy cut was closer to the quintessential millennial. Cruz, on the other hand, styled a long bob (or “lob”) and side-swept fringe similar to that of Hilary Duff, circa 2005. Her caramel-colored highlights danced on top of darker undertones, which matched the hue of her eyebrows.

Cruz often works with hair and makeup artist Pablo Iglesias and celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos; however, it’s not confirmed either talents contributed to her Wednesday hair. It’s also not clear whether Jenny Cho styled Buckley’s hair or if Renato Campora crafted Gyllenhaal’s. WWD has reached out for confirmation.

An avid fan of the trendy “cloud lip,” Buckley opted for a wine-stained lipstick shade, as did Gyllenhaal. The deep, Gothic tone was a far cry from the matte nude makeup artist Nina Park has favored for the “Hamnet” star recently.

At the 79th annual British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, Park dressed Buckley’s lips in the powdery hue and accentuated the shape with her viral contour effect, using Chanel’s Le Crayon Levres Longwear Lip Pencil in Rose Naturel and Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Liquid Lip Colour in Tender Beige. The makeup visionary did the same for Emma Stone but with the LV Baume Lip Balm in Nude Poetry.
