In its annual holiday gifting research report, Snappy found that 75 percent of employees said they are “hoping to receive a gift from their company.” And 57 percent of those polled said they see a gift “as a sign of their employer’s gratitude and appreciation.”
More eye-opening was that 78 of respondents reported “increased job satisfaction after receiving a meaningful gift from their employer, highlighting the important role of gift-giving in fostering gratitude, appreciation and positive business relationships,” authors of the report said.
Snappy, a gifting platform, said in a statement that its research showed “widespread enjoyment of the holiday season overall” as 74 percent of those polled were “expressing their delight during this festive time of year.” Still, gifting isn’t always on the mark, as 70 percent of those polled noted: “They have received gifts they didn’t want and never used, and 24 percent said they have experienced the awkwardness of getting an unwanted gift from their boss.”
The survey was conducted this past September with more than 1,500 U.S. respondents.
Another finding is that 51 percent of those polled said they experience stress regarding gift selection. The research also revealed that 55 percent of respondents reported that “when using a gift, they reflect fondly on the person who gave it to them — highlighting the importance of meaningful gifting,” the report stated.
Snappy noted that corporate gifting also extends to external business relationships, “with 66 percent of those surveyed saying they send gifts to clients and 68 percent to vendors, underscoring its importance in creating long-standing relationships.”
With personal gifting, 62 percent of consumers polled said they prefer gifts that support small businesses, “while 39 percent favor gifts that are eco-friendly and 34 percent favor gifts from minority-owned businesses.”
