Mariah Carey opened her holiday residency on Friday with a look longtime fans will recognize: the return of her gold Giuseppe Zanotti Hattie knee-high boots. The metallic pair, a staple in her 2025 performance wardrobe, set the tone for the first night of “Christmastime in Las Vegas” at Dolby Live.

The “All I Want For Christmas is You” singer’s boots carried all the hallmarks of the Hattie line — a pointed toe, a slim stiletto heel and a mirrored gold finish built for stage light. The shaft hit just at the knee and fell into an intentional slouch through the ankle. A discreet inner ankle zipper kept the front clean.

She matched the gold boots with a rhinestone-covered silver micro-dress, giving the opening look a quiet “silver and gold” nod to the holiday setlist. It was a familiar combination in her performance playbook — short hemline, high-glow surface and footwear positioned to be visible from every tier of the venue.

Bringing the gold Hattie boots back also continues a streak from her summer shows. Carey wore both the silver and gold versions at Brighton Pride in August, switching between them for different numbers. She was also spotted wearing Christian Louboutin’s Km Lace Botta boots in New York City at the end of September, another textural shoe choice with its corseted lacing and lace detailing.

Friday’s opener in Las Vegas followed a similar structure. Across the night, Carey moved through multiple looks, including a diagonally striped red-and-white sequined gown reminiscent of a candy cane and a red Santa-inspired jumpsuit paired with black leather knee-high boots.

“Christmastime in Las Vegas” runs at Dolby Live through Dec. 13, with Carey performing a mix of her holiday catalog and her pop singles. The gold Hattie boots marked the residency’s starting point — a return to a silhouette that remains one of her most consistent choices for the stage.
