Alexandra O’Neill is teeing up for her next tie-up.
After partnering with We Norwegians on skiwear last year, the Markarian designer has traded the slopes for the golf course, debuting a line of premium athletic apparel and accessories for Malbon.
“I’ve always admired Markarian for its ability to balance timeless elegance with modern femininity,” said Erica Malbon.
The Malbon cofounder saluted O’Neill for her eveningwear that celebrates “craftsmanship, romance and playfulness,” adding that they both questioned what the Markarian girl might wear for her leisure hobbies outside the party circuit.
But according to O’Neill, sports and special occasion dressing aren’t mutually exclusive; they’re simply another way to express “modern elegance.”

“The women who wear Markarian live active lives. They travel, they ski, they attend events, and they move between different worlds,” she explained. “What interested me was exploring how luxury can accompany women through every aspect of their lives.”
Available online Tuesday, the capsule zeroes in on one of O’Neill’s favorite flowers: the tiger lily, which blooms across mix-and-match skirt sets ($128 to $228), a pleated scoopneck dress ($268), a visor ($78), lettuce-edge socks ($34), and several club covers ($118 to $148), all in a breezy, coastal palette of white, butter yellow and sage green.
O’Neill is most excited to wear the bomber jacket ($378) because “it has the ease of a classic sportswear staple, but the embroidery across the back transforms it into something much more,” she said. “It feels equally at home on the course, on the court, or worn casually on a summer weekend.”
On a summer weekend, you’re far more likely to spot her on the court than on the course. “I’m into racquet sports more than golf,” she admitted.
That’s why O’Neill and Malbon are inviting select editors, influencers and friends to celebrate with a round of padel at Reserve on the Upper East Side.
Obviously it wouldn’t be a Markarian event without drinks after, this time at the nearby Surrey bar. Cocktail dress not required.
