Michelle Williams has long channeled elegance on the red carpet, often wearing classic colors and vintage silhouettes.
Known for her breakout role was in the ’90s teen drama series “Dawsons Creek,” Williams has recently come into the spotlight again as the narrator for Britney Spears’ autobiography, “The Woman in Me.”
Williams, a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton, often works with celebrity stylist Kate Young, who also styles Rachel Weisz, Nina Dobrev and Julianne Moore. Here, a selection of some of her most notable red-carpet looks — including the mustard Vera Wang gown she turned heads in at the 2006 Academy Awards.
2023
To the 2023 Producers Guild Awards, Williams opted for a red strapless gown with a bow detail. The bold look, which the actress paired with stark red lipstick, was from Valentino’s pre-fall 2023 collection.
2020
Williams opted for a sherbet orange-colored Louis Vuitton gown with a sky blue detail for the 2020 Golden Globe Awards, alongside fiancé Thomas Kail. Williams was pregnant at the time, and accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
2017
Williams, left, posed at the 2017 Academy Awards red carpet alongside her fellow “Dawson’s Creek” costar Busy Philipps in a plunging Louis Vuitton gown with a sparkling white skirt.
2013
Williams aligned with the theme of the 2013 Met Gala “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” wearing a high-low Saint Laurent gown. Even the actress’s hair, styled in a side-swept pixie cut, was edgy.
2006
Williams channeled Old Hollywood at the 2006 Academy Awards, arriving in a mustard-colored Vera Wang gown. The frock evoked a vintage feel, with ruffles, layers and a V-neckline.
2001
In 2001, to the film premiere of “Me Without You,” Williams wore a gathered black top with a plunging neckline paired with a floral pattered midi skirt. The actress posed alongside fellow actress Anna Friel.
