Miley Cyrus opted for old Hollywood opulence in a look from Gucci by artistic director Demna at the “Avatar: Fire and Ash” premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, who’s original song “Dream as One” features as part of the latest “Avatar” film’s soundtrack, wore a black strapless dress with an allover sequin embroidered bodice with a sweetheart neckline that featured a drop waist.

The skirt of the gown transitioned to a tulle material and included a bow detail. Layers of tulle fabric created a cascading effect, with a train element that followed the singer as she walked along the premiere red carpet.

Cyrus dress was featured as part of Demna’s debut collection as the new artistic director for Gucci. Entitled “La Famiglia,” the collection was a curation of different characters wearing designs from the Italian luxury fashion house under Demna’s new direction.

“What I saw as an opportunity for me as a creative at Gucci, on top of having the codes that are unique and very rare, I also have the opportunity of building a new vision based on my creativity, my brain and my intuition mostly,” Demna told WWD in September. “I don’t need to get inspired by the collections of Gucci’s ready-to-wear from the ‘60s. It’s the mindset, it’s the Gucciness of Gucci,” he said.
