Monica Barbaro modeled a minimalist mule style on the set of the upcoming film “One Night Only” in New York City on Tuesday, taking on the urban streets in a sleek black set of heels from Milan-based brand Paris Texas.
Barbaro wore the Lidia mule, a popular style from Paris Texas. The silhouette is defined by its bare-bones minimalism, showcasing a barely there upper consisting of just a curved toe strap. The look continues to lean into the softness of curves by providing a rounded toe — contrasting the pointed toe of many mule styles — but brings in a sharp angularity with a stiletto heel which dramatically points inward and transitions to stand straight and slender. While coverage is minimal, the mules benefit from the gloss of patent leather — though the Lidia is also offered in other materials like satin and mirror-effect leather.
Barbaro wore the mid-height 70 mm heel height option, but the silhouette also comes in a more daring 105 mm iteration — Emily Ratajkowski, for example, has embraced the taller version. Still more celebrities have shown love for the trendy look from Paris Texas, with Quinta Brunson wearing a mesh option, and Madelyn Cline donning a neutral beige.

The shoes are meant to be a year-round wardrobe staple, and celebrities have shown the Lidia can be worn with a variety of ensembles. Barbaro modeled the black patent leather version with the Serafina silk dress from Reformation, a romantic lace-detailed maxidress, in the rich reddish-brown shade of mahogany. The “A Complete Unknown” actress has embraced minimalist footwear before, having worn white strappy Ralph Lauren sandals at Wimbledon in July.
Barbaro was announced as an ambassador for Dior this year, so we can expect her sartorial displays to include designs from the French luxury house — she wore a red column dress with a deep V-neck at the SAG Awards this year, for example. She was revealed to be an ambassador for Bulgari in 2024.
