Naomi Biden brought the sheer trend to the White House this week, pairing sheer opera gloves with her Cristina Ottaviano dress for the 2023 White House State Dinner on Wednesday.
Biden, granddaughter of President Joe Biden, wore a custom crinoline gown with mesh-like paneling and a bustier neckline. She was dressed by stylist Bailey Moon.
Biden attended the event with her her husband Peter Neal, who wore a classic black tuxedo. The pair got married in 2022, with Biden wearing a Ralph Lauren Chantilly gown featuring organza floral embroidery.
The presidential family has a history of wearing Cristina Ottaviano designs. In 2022, to the 100th annual Christmas Tree lighting, First Lady Jill Biden wore a tailored emerald coat and coordinating dress by the designer. Earlier that year, she donned a pastel pink midi dress with a matching waist-cinching belt by Ottaviano.
Naomi Biden last wore a Cristina Ottaviano gown — featuring sequins and a plunging neckline — to the White House State dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June.
The 2023 White House State Dinner on Wednesday was held for Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia. Along with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, the event also included North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, violinist Itzhak Perlman, U.S. ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy and more.
