The start of the U.S. Open is just weeks away, and New Balance is getting ahead of the action with the launch of head-to-toe collections for its top tennis athletes including Tommy Paul, Jordan Thompson, McCartney Kessler and soon, Coco Gauff, allowing fans to get kitted out just like their favorite players.
But New Balance didn’t stop at the U.S. Open. It also prepped shoes and apparel that its players will wear for tournaments in D.C., Canada and Cincinnati, with a second collection for tournaments in China, South Korea and Tokyo set to be released in September.

On the footwear side, the biggest highlight is the introduction of the New Balance FuelCell 996v7, the Boston-based sportswear brand’s latest edition of its flagship speed tennis shoe. Built for ”players who will chase down every shot,” the FuelCell 996v7 is a hard-court tennis shoe which, as its name suggests, is equipped with the brand’s high-performance FuelCell foam.
In comparison to its predecessor, the FuelCell 996v6, the FuelCell 996v7 adds an integrated external TPU shank to the midsole and revamps the upper with more durable materials. Notably, the shoe’s fit is also more accommodating than the 996v6, which was notorious for its narrow sizing.
The first two ranges in the group were launched Monday, while the China, South Korea and Tokyo collection will be released on Sept. 15. Meanwhile, more details on Gauff’s custom U.S. tournament kit are expected when the tournament begins on Aug. 23.
In addition to the FuelCell996v7, Gauff’s New Balance Coco CG2 and New Balance Coco Delray models will be released in seasonal colorways.
The New Balance FuelCell 996v7 is available now from newbalance.com and select New Balance Tennis retailers for $135 in men’s and women’s styles and is also offered in kids sizes for $65. A full look at the men’s and women’s colorways is included below.
