With Y2K inspiration and a futuristic, virtual reality-driven design, New Balance’s Abzorb 2000 sneaker has been one of the brand’s most well-received new lifestyle sneakers of the last few years. Soon, the shoe will adopt springtime colors with an Easter-friendly mix of pastels.
The New Balance Abzorb 2000 “Easter” dons a mix of Oxford Blue/Dry Lime/Cosmic Jade, which is essentially a blend of blue, green and purple pastel shades. This includes a fading blue gradient on the mesh-based upper, lilac synthetic overlays and mint accents on the visible Abzorb SBS pods, shoelaces and support shank. An extra pop of neon green is used on the shoe’s branding and also borders the two-tone laces.
Other recent Abzorb 2000 styles of note include a “Liquid Metal” duo with tribal tattoo-like overlays, a colorful Rose Sugar look and a trio of JD Sports-exclusive styles which are now starting to see wider releases.

Beyond the Abzorb 2000, the Boston-based sportswear brand has found success with other recent additions to its lifestyle footwear business. Most notable is the low-profile 204L sneaker, which has been a hit with women and has also seen coveted collaborations with the likes of Basketcase. And most recently, following an early launch with two Action Bronson collaborations, the new Abzorb 1890 model received a wider general release.
Aside from New Balance, readers can expect other brands to make the most of the springtime shift. Several new Nike styles, including pastel Air Force 1s and flower-adorned Air Jordans, are set to be released soon.
A U.S. release date for the New Balance Abzorb 2000 Easter is set for March, but readers shouldn’t expect the pair to last long. The style has already been released from some of New Balance’s international e-commerce channels, where many sizes have quickly sold out. The sneaker will retail for $170 with a style code of U2000V1.
