Nicolas Ghesquière

PARIS Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of women’s collections at Louis Vuitton, has been named a Knight of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest civilian decoration, in the annual New Year’s Day honors list published on Thursday.

Veteran fashion industry executive Ralph Toledano, the former president of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, was promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honor, having been made a Knight in 2003.

Others associated with the luxury world who were promoted to Knight included Céline Brucker, general manager of L’Oréal France; Nathalie Célia-Koch-Chevalier, managing director of Bucherer France, and Diana Widmaier Picasso, cofounder and chief artistic director of jewelry brand Menē.
