Coming off the launch of the GT Future, Nike has another futuristic sneaker in store, one with a clear lineage to the Air Foamposite One.

The Nike First Sight Shadow was revealed by veteran Swoosh designer Frank Cooke in his Instagram stories Monday, and he’s quite bullish on its merits. He called the new model “hands down my favorite breakout shoe” and added that it better be in the top 10 for sneaker of the year lists for 2026.

A molded upper with ripples channels the original Foamposite and other models, but with greater detail than on any sneaker featuring the technology. Near the heel comes an oval hosting a series of bulbous and metallic pods, and the lines then give way to arrowed shapes as it they approach the forefoot. Debossed oval shapes are also scattered throughout the design, while a jewel Swoosh sits at the lateral toe. A big teardrop shaped cutout appears on the toe box, and a winged tongue hosts another Swoosh on the medial side.

Because the shoe is slip-on, it does not appear intended for basketball like the GT Future. But little is known about the First Sight Shadow beyond what can be seen and the loose release information available so far.

Despite the obvious similarities, the GT Future has never been officially cited as using Foamposite technology. Nike may now has newer methods and materials to produce the molds, which were famously expensive when the seminal sneaker was first produced.

The Nike First Sight Shadow will release during the fall 2026 season, likely through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $145.
