Nike’s timeless Air Force 1 sneaker isn’t the only shoe that will be receiving an icy, croc-embossed makeover as the warmer weather approaches. The same theme will be carried over to Nike’s Air Max 90, which appears today in official e-commerce imagery.
The upcoming Nike Air Max 90 is a near one-to-one match with its Air Force 1 counterpart with the same material texture, chromed-out details and translucent ice blue outsole. Where they differ, however, is the category and era in which each classic Swoosh sneaker is culled from. While the Air Force 1 has roots as a 1982 performance basketball shoe, the Air Max 90 arrived nearly a decade later as the latest entry in Nike’s groundbreaking Air Max running franchise.

With a White/Blue Tint/Pure Platinum/Chrome colorway, the upcoming Air Max 90 is ideally suited for spring and summer wear. It features a white leather upper with croc embossing and a shiny chrome finish on the Swoosh branding, tongue badge and the Air Max 90’s signature molded heel logo. The look is finished off with a blue foam midsole and rubber outsole combination.
It’s worth noting that this upcoming Nike Air Max 90 has been labeled an Air Max 90 Terrascape model by some sources, but it doesn’t appear to feature the same components as the sustainability-focused Terrascape version, which was issued in multiple styles by the Beaverton, Ore.-based sportswear company in 2022 and 2023. The Terrascape variation of the Air Max 90 featured a Crater Foam midsole, translucent tooling, a mixed-material construction and pull tabs at the heel and tongue. In comparison, this upcoming croc colorway only features a translucent midsole, although it remains possible that Nike has reworked the Terrascape concept for 2026.
This Nike Air Max 90 is expected to be released this summer from nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers for a to-be-confirmed retail price. The style code for this pair is IR1981-100.
