Olivia Rodrigo appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday wearing a lavender, leather minidress by Coach.
Rodrigo has become known for her vintage fashion sense, and while her Coach dress was from the brand’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection, Coach creative director Stuart Vevers used vintage memories as a point of inspiration that season.
Rather than offering up a vintage collection, he called on memories of his favorite spots as a “blueprint for the design of these archetypes rather than any literal references,” WWD reported. That includes recollections from the Pyramid Club, one of Vevers’ favorite dance clubs in the East Village, which dictated the collection’s myriad slipdresses.
Rodrigo accessorized the dress with Jennifer Fisher hoop earrings and silver metallic leather mules by By Far, following an appearance earlier in October, when she went for a metallic shoe with a silver Coach loafer.
Rodrigo talked with Kimmel about her fear of ghosts, homeschooling and her upcoming world tour.
Rodrigo, who often works with stylist Danielle Goldberg on her outfits, later hit the stage at the late-night talk show to perform her single “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl.” Her outfit, a black peplum-sleeve top with a white collar, channeled the dark academia trend. The trend often incorporates button-up shirts, pleated skirts and plaid patters that romanticize the colder months.
The songstress’s world tour, which begins in February, aligns with her second studio alum “Guts,” which she released on Sept. 8.
