Regina King made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday in Los Angeles. The Oscar-winning actress chatted with the eponymous late-night host about her new film “Shirley,” which she’s been promoting.
King fashioned an ivory sleeveless minidress by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. The dress featured fabric with stretched draping and ruched detailing throughout.
King accessorized with dainty jewelry, including a set of hoop earrings, and completed the ensemble with a pair of statement heels. WWD recently reviewed Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection during Milan Fashion Week, which highlighted its “sophistication and wearability.” The collection also reworked ’50s silhouettes with a contemporary update.
King has attended engagements recently for her latest movie. Prior to the appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” King attended the premiere of “Shirley” on March 19 in Los Angeles. For the event, King fashioned a little black dress by Schiaparelli, with gold chain detailing.
At the “Shirley” premiere, King accessorized the look with gold heels by Le Silla. She was styled for the event by Wayman Deon and Micah McDonald. Regina King has worn Schiaparelli in the past and attended the fashion label’s spring 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week.
Deon and McDonald also styled King for the Oscars, for which she wore Versace. Taraji P. Henson, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Olivia Munn have also been styled by the fashion duo.
Over the years, King has worn several dazzling red carpet looks, opting for designers ranging from Versace to Oscar de la Renta, Schiaparelli and more.
“Shirley” stars King as the trailblazing politician Shirley Chisholm. The biopic chronicles Chisholm’s bid for the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination after becoming the first Black woman elected to Congress. Lucas Hedges, Terrence Howard and André Holland costar alongside King. The film is available to stream on Netflix.
