Tennis legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are back in front of Annie Leibovitz’s lens, starring in Louis Vuitton‘s latest “Core Values” campaign.
The first visual, released last May, featured the duo hiking through Italy’s Dolomites. Now, in the second, they take a break — though Nadal still flexes his bicep, this time in a white T-shirt.
“I know how many important icons have been part of this campaign, so for me personally, being part of it is something that I am very proud of, especially sharing it with Roger — he has been my biggest rival and now a close friend today,” Nadal said in a release. “In my career, I achieved more than I ever dreamt of, so at the end of the day, the legacy in terms of human beings is the most important value.”

The Core Values campaign, launched in 2007 under Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari, has featured icons like Pele, Maradona, Mikhail Gorbachev and Angelina Jolie. After a hiatus, the series returned in 2022 with an ad starring Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Now, it spotlights Nadal and Federer.
The image released last May depicts the two hiking on “A Legendary Journey to the Top,” as the tagline reads. The latest visual shows them relaxing — not as competitors, but as companions. Federer carries the classic Monogram Christopher backpack, while Nadal sports a Monogram Eclipse version.
“It has been 17 years since I launched the first Core Values campaign with Antoine Arnault, and I am delighted to revive this iconic series,” Beccari says. “It has been brilliant to work with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on this story — both inspirational athletes, fierce friends, and testaments to the discipline and excellence of their own personal sporting journeys.”
The campaign will appear in print ads and across Vuitton’s social channels.
