Today brought the reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, five years after a devastating fire. The occasion was marked with a ceremony that was attended by Salma Hayek Pinault and her husband François-Henri Pinault, the chairman and CEO of Kering, among around 50 heads of state and government.

For the event, Hayek embraced stately glamour, wearing a fur-trimmed green coat with a three-strand pearl necklace. Hayek completed her look with a pair of diamond-encrusted pearl drop earrings and a voluminous updo set high.

Pinault’s company Kering donated $113 million to the reconstruction of Notre-Dame after the 2019 fire destroyed its spire designed by architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century. Restoration, costing hundreds of millions of euros, involved around 250 companies and numerous experts, meticulously preserving its Gothic essence.

Hayek and Pinault married in 2009 and share a daughter, Valentina. In March 2023, Hayek and Valentina attended Saint Laurent’s fall 2023 runway show together during Paris Fashion Week, where Hayek also opted to wear dark green. The actress wore a mock turtleneck dress with a contrasting blazer and paired them with an envelope clutch from Saint Laurent, which Kering owns. In addition to Saint Laurent, Kering also owns Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and other luxury brands.

Hayek went with a dark green ensemble last November as well when she attended the annual Baby2Baby Gala, where she was honored for her philanthropic work with the Giving Tree award, presented to her by Kim Kardashian. For the occasion, Hayek wore a custom emerald sequined halter neck gown by Bottega Veneta. Hayek completed her look with a pair of Boucheron diamond drop earrings and a Gucci ring.

Hayek’s next project is a film centered around a charity gala. “Sacrifice” stars Hayek alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Evans, and more stars and was co-written and is being directed by Romain Gavras. The film is currently in production and there is not yet a release date.
