As an entrepreneur and actor juggling multiple projects, Sarah Hyland has been bi-coastal for the majority of her career. Right now, she is in NYC performing as Audrey in the “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Westside Theater eight nights a week. “I’m just a musical theater girly to my core and a horror fan. It’s been a dream role of mine since I was a little girl, so it’s just amazing to bring Audrey to life every week,” Hyland tells PS.
She recently partnered with Kohl’s to assist her in getting her East Coast life in order. “Whether it’s settling into my new apartment, things for Boo [her dog], or things for Wells [Adams] when he’s coming back in town, I know that all my needs are met there,” Hyland tells PS. Hyland is a frequent traveler, and one of her biggest tips is to use packing cubes. “It just keeps everything so organized in the suitcase. I’m a person that loves to unpack as soon as I arrive. Even if I’m there for a night, I want to feel like everything is organized, and packing cubes just help the unpacking and packing process,” she says.

As a native New Yorker, Hyland recommends a bottle of wine with a picnic blanket in Central Park and checking out Bleecker Street Pizza. “All you need is a plain cheese pizza, that’s how you know if it’s a good pizza place,” she says. However, Hyland’s top NYC recommendation is going to the theater. “It’s the heartbeat of New York,” she says. The shows she wants to watch are “Hadestown,” “The Outsiders,” “The Notebook,” and “Cats: The Jellicle Ball.” Beyond her sightseeing suggestions, Hyland shares her top NYC travel must-haves ahead.
