Saweetie attended the EE72 launch party for 72 Magazine at The Cut restaurant in New York on Friday evening, punctuating a lingerie-inspired look with Rene Caovilla’s Chandelier pumps.

The stilettos were done in black velvet with pointed toes and slim heels. Their defining feature: sequined wraparound straps that wound the ankle and lower calf and were trimmed with fringe. The style retails for $1,590 and sits among the brand’s most ornate evening pumps.

The wrap construction tracks with Caovilla’s long-running approach to jeweled straps, a house language seen since the 1970s in its serpentine and ankle-wrapping silhouettes. Here, the effect reads as built-in adornment above a pared-back velvet base.

She styled the pumps with a sheer black lace minidress and an oversized blazer finished with satin lapels. Accessories were kept tight: a mirrored clutch and stacked rings.

The event introduced 72 Magazine, a quarterly print and digital title under EE72, the media and entertainment company co-founded by Edward Enninful and Akua Enninful. Sarah Harris serves as editorial director across digital and print, with Simone Oliver leading content. The publication will cover fashion, beauty, luxury and culture, aiming for what the Enninfuls previously described to WWD as “boundary-breaking storytelling.”

The appearance extends Saweetie’s footwear run this year. In February, she attended Netflix’s “Court of Gold” pre-game brunch in quilted olive pumps, a futuristic take that sat under wide-leg trousers. Days later, at EA Sports’ Madden Bowl in New Orleans, she switched to brown suede booties with a square-toe profile.

Placed against those February choices, the Caovilla pair brings a heavily embellished evening option back into her rotation — still pointed and high-heeled, but defined by sequins and fringe rather than quilting or suede texture.
