At the world premiere of the film “Ray Gun” on Saturday, Scarlett Johansson appeared on the red carpet at the 70th BFI Film Festival in London this Saturday. The actress, who lends her voice to the fictional pop star Venus Nova in the film, sported a cute pair of strappy shoes that appear to be Manolo Blahnik’s Leva 105 Sandal.
Johansson wore all red for the event. She dressed in a strapless Hermès resort 2027 dress, which paired nicely with the relaxed-but-refined Manolo Blahnik sandals colored in the Leva 105’s bright red shade. These chic open-toe sandals have thin spaghetti-style straps that loop around the ankle and lower foot.
This sophisticated design combined with the pointed heel elevates the more casual footwear into something worthy of the red carpet. Manolo Blahnik is having a strong year as a luxury shoe line, so it’s no surprise to see stars opting for the brand.

Strappy sandals in general are having something of a moment in 2026. The style has been an Oscar red carpet staple for the better part of a decade, gracing the feet of big names like Emma Stone and Megan Thee Stallion.
In 2026, we’ve seen strappy sandals pop up quite a bit. Oscar winner Zoe Saldaña wore a pair of Givenchy feathered sandals during the 2006 Times100 Gala and Issa Rae was recently seen in a pair of Stuart Weitzman’s Georgie 100 heels with metallic leather straps.
This year’s BFI London Film Festival marks the event’s 70th year. Founded in 1957, the festival is a well-established staple of the London art scene during the early weeks of October. Johansson’s film, “Ray Gun”, is an animated neo-noire thriller that incorporates science fiction elements. After its BFI debut, the film will hit select theaters Dec. 4 before making a nationwide debut on Netflix on December 18th.
