HOP ON: Smythson is marking the 160th anniversary of English author Beatrix Potter with a collaboration that brings Peter Rabbit and his furry friends to the British brand’s signature range of stationery on Tuesday.
The capsule, created in partnership with The World of Peter Rabbit, highlights characters including Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Jemima Puddle-Duck and Appley Dapply.
Leaning on the brand’s literary heritage, Smythson revisited a relationship dating to the 1920s, when it sold Potter bronze figurines and a miniature Peter Rabbit bookshelf.
For this anniversary edition, the design team at Smythson looked at the Beatrix Potter archive for illustrations, sketches and prints, translating them into key pieces include Panama notebooks in blue, green and chalk, gold-stamped with character motifs.

There are also two Chelsea notebooks emblazoned with Potter quotes; and interiors lined with a print originally designed in the 1920s.
The stationery offer spans hand-engraved correspondence cards featuring the characters, each hand-sprayed with blue, fuchsia or green borders and paired with matching tissue-lined envelopes.
Underscoring the brand’s British heritage, the notebooks are manufactured at Smythson’s Hertfordshire workshop, with hand-engraved stationery produced in Wiltshire.
Earlier in the year, the brand also teamed up with Chitose Abe, founder of Sacai, for a collaboration where the Japanese designer shrunk the brand’s leather briefcases and turned them into a passport cover, pouch and Chelsea notebook, all with little structured handles.
