Halloween weekend kicked off in New York on Friday night with New York Restoration Project’s annual Hulaween Gala. Held at Cipriani South Street, the event called for guests to put aside their usual black tie and get creative.

The theme of this year’s event was “Once Upon a Hulaween: Scarytales & Deadtime Stories,” and costumes largely riffed on fairy tales. Guests included Dylan Mulvaney, dressed as Snow White; Awkwafina as Guy Fieri; Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos in Dia de los Muertos getups; Larry Milstein as Jack and the Beanstalk, and Padma Lakshmi as the Big Bad Wolf.

The costume contest was judged by Jordan Roth, who donned an Evil Queen custom costume designed by Zac Posen. (The official title of the look? “The Queen of Snow White & the 7 Circles of Hell.”) Jon Recor took the top individual award for his “Twisted Tooth Fairy” costume; the runner-up was Jennifer Wray, dressed as “Moldy Locks.”

Tony winner Myles Frost hosted the evening, which honored Clive Davis — donning a cape for the occasion — Krystyna M. Blakeslee and Bruce Bozzi. The night concluded with live performances by Chloe Bailey and Dionne Warwick.

In total, the event raised over $2 million for NYRP, which was founded by Bette Midler in 1995 to protect and provide support for New York City’s green spaces.
