Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh embraced an ornately designed look for an evening at the theater alongside her husband of 25 years, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh on Wednesday in London. The British royal family members attended a special performance of “Starlight Express” in support of The Orpheus Centre, a disability charity and college located in Surrey, England, where young adults with disabilities are encouraged to embrace the arts.

For the occasion, the duchess wholly embraced the drama and showmanship of the theater with her attire. The royal wore a maxidress designed by Spanish clothing brand Matelier. The look featured printed viscose on a silky fabric with shades of cream and ocher.

The dress featured a loose fit and a bias-flare skirt. The most dramatic element was the maxi butterfly sleeves, which created a drape-like effect. Finishing touches included a Perkins collar.

The duchess’ penchant for ornate patterns and delicate designs has been a consistent element of her royal wardrobe as of late.

Prior to her recent appearance for the special performance of “Starlight Express,” the British royal was spotted in the stands celebrating Team Great Britain’s gold medal win for the team sprint at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Monday.
